About Sax Velo

Sax Velo started nearly 8 years ago, with Jon always having a passion for cycling which started in his teens. So as a family Jon, Caroline and our children Amelia and William, we took a leap and opened our little shop. Jon has now instilled his love for cycling with our son William, who started off on a hybrid and now is on a full carbon Forme Flash. They both love road and MTB. As a family run shop we wanted Sax Velo to be inclusive not exclusive. Meaning no matter what your level of cycling, we wanted the customer to feel comfortable asking any questions or queries. All to often this is not the case.

Amelia our daughter is a fully qualified cycle mechanic and when she started her training at 16, she was only the 5th female in the country to under the training at Cytech, she was however the youngest. Something we are very proud of. She has done amazing and even now we find sometimes when going to trade shows the pre conception that a girl would know certain things is strange to some. We hope this changes, and having 2 females working in the shop we aim to make any process of buying a bike or asking about repairs or products a more comfortable process.

We have some amazing customers many of whom have become friends, our group rides aim to include all abilities and can often have 3 different levels at on our ride nights or sundays. Hence we aim for inclusive not exclusive.
